What do you think of when you hear the word hazardous waste? You might picture a bunch of people in bulky rubber suits and masks huddled around glowing green drums or barrels? While Hollywood loves a dramatic photo op, most hazardous waste can be normal everyday items that you use. For example, water that has been contaminated with gasoline, kerosene, fuel oil, or other petroleum products, can be a hazardous waste if not segregated, managed, and handled properly.
Reco Biotechnology is in the business of transforming petroleum-contaminated water into RECYCLED FUEL and NON-HAZARDOUS WASTEWATER, not a hazardous waste!
The Reco Biotechnology facility, located at the confluence of I-95 and I-64 in Richmond, Virginia, features a 165,000 square foot indoor treatment recycling and waste management facility doing its part to keep our environment clean by taking petroleum-contaminated water and cleaning it up.
Our fuel recycling process is performed in compliance with the USEPA to ensure proper and safe handling of hazardous materials. We pride ourselves in the important role we play in helping maintain a clean and safe environment. Recovered fuel is recycled as a fuel, it’s original intended purpose! The water portion is treated to remove any residual organic contaminants.
Help Us Keep The Earth Clean
All water eventually finds its way back into the watershed system, and any contaminants it carries with it can bring harm to every living thing that depends on it for survival, including us. At Reco Biotechnology, our goal is to provide a safe and environmentally friendly way to dispose of contaminated water, and at the same time find an economically viable method for reducing fuel waste. Join us in our mission to provide a cleaner world for all, and in the process avoid the headache of how to dispose of your contaminated wastewater!
